What an Experience!

betexperience

Happy Monday! I had a wonderful music/fashion filled weekend in L.A thanks to B.E.T. This is the second year B.E.T has held this event in L.A. to promote the award show last night. While I didn't get a chance to see the show I did get to spend my weekend with some amazing performers and friends. Here are some of my favorite pictures that I took and some of the wonderful people that I've met. Looking forward to continue networking and interacting with everyone.

Oh how I missed her...

Embedded image permalink

Happy Saturday! I hope you're having fun filled weekend. I have an announcement to make today...NICOLE RICHIE IS BACK ON T.V AND BOY DID I MISS HER. Now that I have gotten that out the way I can explain why Nicole Richie is the fashion icon we missed, needed, and never really realized how much we loved her without Paris Hilton. This will be done through a series of pictures of her. So lets let the fun begin!

Being taken for a TEST DRIVE

I simply adore Kim Kardashian and I'm sorry if you don't. She is a fashion icon, entrepreneur, mother, wife, and practically perfect. In honor of it being Wednesday (and my love for WOMAN CRUSH WEDNESDAY) I decided to post this lovely picture here for everyone to appreciate.

This post isn't about her as much as it is about the dress she is wearing and a mock write up I did for my current writing position. As you may know from countless previous mentions I am a blogger for ABS by Allen Schwartz. A very inexperienced blogger if I might add. I love fashion, I have planned countless fashion shows, helped style people (hair and make-up), and blogged a little my freshman year as an Orientation Leader. So how exactly did I manage to get a position blogging for a fashion company?

The road to self-discovery is paved with good intentions?

It's Tuesday! I hope your Monday was productive and full of pleasant surprises. Since I just graduated college last month I moved back home hopefully until September 1st when I'll be moving to L.A. to peruse a career.  I took a day off yesterday from career searching, researching, and blogging (a surprisingly unexpected break) and focused on enjoying life. I spent the day with my niece watching Goosebumps, cooking, and baking. We made some pretty fun galaxy cookies (multi-colored swirl cookies shaped like stars). That was probably the best part of my summer so far (and it's only June)!

Sunday Funday: Weekly inspiration

SundayHappy Sunday! Unlike most people my two favorite days of the week are Sunday and Monday. Why you ask? Well, because I get to meal prep and plan out my week! DUH! Sundays to me are fresh starts. If you didn't accomplish your goals for last week don't dwell on it because it's time for a fresh start!

Here is an example of what my Sunday to Sunday looks like:
Sunday: Write this lovely blog for you and plan out the week and meal prep...etc!
Monday: Email in my FIRST blog post for the ABS by Allen Schwartz, research for Tuesdays post. Respond back to my emails.
Tuesday: Call Chipotle about my interview this week...and so much more

Double Feature: #LifeGoals & Macklemore once released a press release on instagram

If you've been following me on twitter

I hate to be this girl but...

There are a few things you should know about me if you've just started reading my blog, are interested in this post, or want to become my friend. I love dinner parties , huge glasses of red wine, music of all kinds, art galleries, and most importantly Sex and the City. I love it so much that I believe Samantha Jones and I are basically the same person. She screams beauty and sexual independence. Personally I think she made the entire show. Sometimes though, I can't help but look at Carrie and Big (before the "big" wedding) and realize that I like Carrie have a Big. That every girl has a Big.

A fate worse than death: Rejection

Image

Two things happened to me recently:
1. I had an interview with Chipotle.
2. I received my first career rejection letter.
I want to talk about the letter.

This wasn't technically my first rejection letter after college (I was rejected from the Sundance Film Festival as an employee) and probably not the last. However, this is the one that seemed to hit me the hardest. I was rejected by a friend of my parents friend. Someone the woman had known for years. He didn't directly reject me instead he stated that "they currently did not have any positions that fit my qualifications" or in other words sorry we can't find anything with your lack of experience.

TED TALK David Brooks: Should you live for your résumé ... or your eulogy?

http://youtu.be/MlLWTeApqIM

As much as I enjoy talking to all of you sometimes I just want to share a video. So here is one of my favorite TED talks that I've discovered recently. I think it says a lot about this generation and what we're told we should be doing with our life.

Love,

Ashley Nicole.

Freelancing?

I was going to do a lovely Woman Crush Wednesday post and make it a tradition to do it weekly. I decided against it though for now and want to discuss a more important topic...graduating.

Like many recent graduates I'm going through the struggle of sending out my resume/cover letter to companies and networking with my parents friends. So far the only thing I'm coming up with is a potential job offer from Chipotle...but I do love Chipotle. Seriously, who can resist those burritos? Anyways before we get started on today's topic I need you to watch this video because it fits what I will be doing for awhile if a wonderful company doesn't hire me soon.

Sometimes you grow apart and that's okay.

That's Jordan and Alex. The two people I basically spent my entire awkward teenage stage with. They're what you would call my best friends. An acquaintance asked about them last time we talked and stated something that threw me for a loop. That perhaps we're outgrowing each other. JORDAN, ALEX and I! I proceeded to deny the idea of us ever being on different pages. It wasn't possible. We have history. We've had arguments, inside jokes, and everything under the sun. Growing apart simply didn't seem like an option...until now.
